CPCA Western Meeting 2017
The CPCA will be hosting an Industry Reception on April 19 from 5-7 pm mountain.
This is an excellent opportunity to network with fluid power industry leaders while learning more about the oil and gas industry.
Keynote Speaker: Paul Tsounis, M.A. Econ/Fin, Director, Energy Economics, Alberta Energy “Alberta’s Resource Potential and its Ability to Reach New Markets”
Paul is back again this year to give delegates an update on the current market situation in Alberta and a look at future expectations. He will also discuss the US and global market conditions, provide an overview of the climate leadership plan and get into issues unfolding in dealing with the new administration south of the border.
With the continued stagnancy of crude oil prices there is little certainty among investors and analysts of when we can expect a rebound in economic conditions. Alberta's economy, with its large dependence on the energy industry, has been feeling the pinch of reduced energy prices through reduced investment and rising unemployment. When will the economy rebound?
Paul Tsounis is currently the Director of Resource Economics in the Energy Information and Analysis Branch in Alberta Energy. In the 8 years that Paul has been a part of the Branch, he has led a group of professionals responsible for conducting energy price forecasts, monitoring global and North American energy market conditions and trends, royalty policy analysis and is now conducting upstream resource economics analysis.
Prior to his current position in Alberta Energy, Paul also was Chief Economist with the City of Edmonton for 5 years, Senior Economist with Alberta Treasury Board and Finance for 3 years.
Food and drinks will be provided.
